What is the ICMP Designation?

The Iowa Mortgage Association has developed a designation program to recognize mortgage professionals who have attained the highest levels of industry expertise.  An Iowa Certified Mortgage Professional (ICMP) has met rigorous standards endorsed by the Iowa Mortgage Association.

The Iowa Mortgage Association is commited to promoting the highest degree of professionalism for its members and providing ethical and profesional standards against which mortgage professionals can be measured.  The objectives of the ICMP Designation are as follows:

• To distinguish individuals with illustrated accomplishments in the mortgage profession
• To build the standards of the mortgage industry to gain strength in our practices
• To acknowledge past accomplishments and contributions to other organizations
• To identify an individual's knowledge, understanding, and competency in the real estate finance community
• To empower qualified persons to continue their training in the professional field
• To foster a foundation for future leaders in the mortgage industry

An Iowa Certified Mortgage Professional is required to pass the designation written examination and participate in professional education to stay abreast of the current trends, legal changes and events that affect the mortgage industry.

To date, only eleven individuals have earned the Iowa Certified Mortgage Professional designation within the state of Iowa.
